FAQ's

✦ What is Consignment?
Consignment is when the owner of the goods (consignor) allows the store owner (consignee) to sell on their behalf. The consignor is paid a percentage of the sales price once the item has sold. The consignee keeps the other percentage of the profit as payment for the work involved in selling the item(s). Consignment can be a great way to earn money back on clothing, shoes, and other items you no longer wear but may still hold value. Consignment helps reduce the environmental impact of clothing waste, giving clothing and other items an extended life cycle.
✦ What items do you accept?
We accept gently used Women's clothing, shoes, and accessories. Clothing items such as dresses, swimwear, jeans, tops, leggings, sweaters, jackets, etc. Accessories include scarves, bags, purses, belts, hats, sunglasses, and more.
✦ Are there specific brands, styles, or seasons you accept?
Ideally, we like to accept items that are currently in season as you will likely earn more for your item that way. As far as brands and styles, those can change frequently depending on what is in style at the time. Fashion trends are always changing! We encourage you to look through our items for sale on our website to get an idea of brands and styles we are currently selling. Also, check out our social media channels for what we are currently looking for.
✦ What items are NOT accepted?
Kids, Men's, homegoods, household items, electronics. Items in poor condition (holes, stains, rips, missing buttons, broken zippers, etc.).
✦ Where are my items sold?
Accepted items will be made available for sale here on our website, in our retail location, as well as other online marketplaces including Poshmark, eBay, etc. We've sold over 3K items online! We know how to get your items seen by buyers worldwide in order to get them sold for the highest price possible during your consignment period. Our online sales sets us apart from other consignment stores that only sell locally.
✦ How do I get paid?
You are paid 40% of the sales price for each item (or 50% store credit). Payouts are made via Paypal, Venmo or Check on the 15th of each month for items sold the prior month (ex. Aug 15th payment for sales made in July)
✦ How long is the consignment period?
1 year
✦ Speaking of Luxury Designer, how do I know items I purchase from Baystate Boutique & Consignment are authentic?
We use a third party authentication service to authenticate all luxury designer items with a sales price of $200+ so you can feel confident the item you are buying is legit
✦   What happens to items that do not sell during the consignment period?
We work hard to make sure your items sell during the consignment period. However, sometimes items do not. You may pick up your unsold items before your end date OR you can choose to leave them behind to be donated on your behalf. Items not picked up by the end of your consignment period will become the property of Baystate Boutique & Consignment.
